A friend of mine was downsizing and a non-negotiable for her was the kitchen. So we went to a few apartments on one day and no luck, and she apologized to me and I said, "What are you apologizing for? You can't polish a turd." Make sense, yes?
And we're back. In case you don't know me, my name is ellee v en and I'm a self-proclaimed groovalutionary. So when I'm talking about the freshening up things and the inability to polish turds, I'm talking about you can't freshen up the size of things with a coat of paint or fixtures, but you have to be able to recognize good bones. This applies to people. This applies to investments. This applies to fabrics. This applies to many things.
Sticking to the basics and to structural soundness, a person, a place, or a thing, it's like a beard can make a man look amazing, but is it false advertising if you're trying to polish a chinless turd? This all comes around to non-negotiables and accepting things as they are. If it's a turd, it's a turd. It's soft and not manageable. It's immovable and gross. A relationship can be a turd.
