Article: Individuality Takes Center Stage

Individuality Takes Center Stage
Copenhagen Fashion Week
Copenhagen is a city that knows how to be itself. This came through beautifully at the Copenhagen Fashion Show, where designers subtly reimagined the familiar.
A sharply cut trench pulled in at the waist. A familiar silhouette reimagined through an unexpected texture. A cottagecore dress paired with a vintage basket.
Among many notable designers, these three stood out to us.
By Marlene Birger
By Malene Birger returned to Copenhagen with a collection rooted in heritage, showcasing sophisticated Scandinavian minimalism. Birger’s collection is built with longevity in mind, creating pieces that you’ll keep coming back to because of their elevated simplicity.
Institution
Institution’s Galib Gassanoff calls on his Georgian heritage in his work, using natural materials and traditional craft techniques to elevate contemporary clothing. Gassanoff plays with wardrobe archetypes, from a blazer designed backwards to a sparkling top that shines with Georgian currency in place of sequins.
Nicklas Skovgaard
And finally, Nicklas Skovgaard. Soft meets structured, leather meets gingham, and classic silhouettes are reimagined through unexpected materials. Skovgaard thrives on contrast. His designs keep us on our toes, finding playfulness in the tension between the familiar and the unexpected.
This investment in originality is what makes the styles at Copenhagen Fashion Week feel so refreshing.
It’s filled with artists who know what they love, honor their heritage, and make fashion their own.
And so, we give a big loud shout out to Nordic Fashionistas; being authentically you is the most Groovalutionary thing to be.
