Hi my name is ellee ven and I am a self proclaimed groovalutionary today we're going to talk about planting our feet in the growth zone. If you are a horticulturist like me you know that vines sleep they creep and then they leap. I'm going to talk about how that is very similar to our creative patterns in this next video.

The definition of creativity is the use of your imagination or original ideas to create something. Now that's something you do in everyday life. Don't like your route to work, change it. Don't have a black sweatshirt that's clean, wear brown. Don't have any eggs, use flaxseed and water. There are a zillion instances within a day where you make creative choices and you're simply not defining them as creative.

At the groovalution we are not about changing minds, we're about opening minds we're about planting and feeding in a no-judgment zone. Because creativity does not come in perfect chunks we have to allow things to bloom we have to allow weeds to come through and we have to continue to water and nurture our ideas in order to actually give them strength.

The best way to keep your feet planted in the growth zone is by becoming a passionate learner. By allowing yourself to be a constant learner and learn from all kinds of people. I'm particularly enthusiastic about master classes. For those of you who don't know, master class is a an app where people who are really doing what they do share all about their craft they share about their history they share of other inspirations.

Recently I watched Serena Williams. I'm not going to Wimbledon anytime soon but I'll tell you something I can really benefit from someone who gets up every single day who is faced with so much scrutiny and expectation and judgement and still remains totally true to their craft. Mario Batali or Massimo Bottura I'm not a gourmet chef either but I'll tell you something, those guys have a lot to offer. There are so many simple techniques that we can apply to any recipe and suddenly our time in the kitchen is much improved. Learning really doesn't have to be that focused we just have to gravitate towards the things that interest us and decide that it's worth spending just a little bit of valuable time learning about those kinds of things. And then before you know it that information is going to absolutely feed and fuel your creativity. So travel, read, stretch, learn, move, subscribe to the groovalution. My name is ellee ven. I'm a self proclaimed groovalutionary.
